General Information
Beyond Escape is a graphic studio specializing in animal images. We have a friendly and helpful staff, active administrators and hopefully, a well structured forum. We love to hear from our members, so feel free to PM any of the admins. We will answer your questions and listen as well as we can.
Below we have posted the rules for BE. Please read through them often, as changes will be made as the staff sees fit.
Warnings will follow if rules are broken. Punishments/banning will be chosen carefully after evaluating how severe the action was.
Beyond Escape has recently undergone some major construction and a shifting of staff so please bear with us.

Main Rules
* Admins and Personalizers are to be respected. They, in turn, are expected to keep their cool at all times.
* Politeness is a must. Rudeness is not tolerated here.
* Keep swearing to a minimum, or not at all.
* Fights, arguments, heated debates, name calling etc. are not allowed.
* Post in the appropriate board by reading the board category.
* Stay on the subject of the thread unless in certain Sp00sh threads.
* Use correct grammar and spelling to the best of your ability.
* No chat speak or posting 'lyke dis 4 watevr reeson' unless in the Sp00sh board.
* No bumping and/or double posting (unless a Personalizer is posting after themselves to say that an image is in Pick-Ups).
Image Sizes
Signatures used in this studio must not exceed 600 pixels in width or be extremely high.
Do not post an image if it is over 600 pixels in width or extremely large. Please post the link or a clickable instead.
Applying
* Use the form provided.
* Do not include human images.
* Forms must be posted completed. If not, they will be deleted.
* The standards we set here are very high and it can take many tries to get accepted. Do not be disappointed if you are declined, you can always try again in a month.
* You may repost your application after a month has passed. If you post before that, your application will be removed.
In Personalizers, we expect to see quality work in these areas: cutting, animal placement, realism (ex: adding shadows/reflections/dust/fog) text placement and visibility, mane/tail/fur smudging, making the animal "belong" in the background, borders, a visible, yet not distracting signature, and credit to your stock providers.
If you seem to need more practice in one or more of these areas, your appilication will be declined. However, if you show that you are near the quality of making images that we expect, you may be accepted as an Apprentice.
Personalizer Rules and Information
Once you are accepted as a Personalizer, you need to PM ` _e v e r l y [username: everly] with the form below, filling out the empty spaces.
Name:*
Program(s):*
Examples:
Status:*
Mentoring Preference:* (if you want an apprentice or not, you may have to take one, even if you'd prefer not to)
You may give up to three links for your Examples, but a site (ex: DeviantART) containing your works is preferred. Areas with an * are required.
Personalizers can only take two requests at a time. You MUST finish those requests before taking any more. This is to ensure that all requests get completed in a timely manner and so that everyone gets a chance to fill requests.
More than one Personalizer may not make the same image.
If a Personalizer fails to reply to an activity check their Personalizer status will be revoked. If they wish to reclaim their status they must pm ` _e v e r l y and let her know.
* This is something new we are adding to Personalizer status with the re-opening of BE. All Personalizers' are required to take on an Apprentice if a staff member should ask. Once they are assigned to an Apprentice it is there job to set up lessons and tutorials for their Apprentice. Personalizers' must critique their Apprentice's work and discuss with them the three pieces they will submit to ` _e v e r l y at the end of their month. If a Personalizer feels their Apprentice needs more time, it is up to them to pm ` _e v e r l y and request it.
All Personalizers should:
* Take as much time as you need to create the best possible image.
* Try to get as close to what the customer requests.
* Tell the customer when their image is ready.
* Be patient with the customer.
* Have fun!!
Apprentice Rules and Information
Apprentices may make images, but their apprenticeship lasts only a month. During this time they will make as many images as possible, trying to improve and show their worth.
Each time an Apprentice completes a request, they are required to post the same image in the Apprentice Critique board. Here their mentor will critique their work and help them improve it.
All Apprentices will be assigned a Personalizer as a teacher. If a Personalizer sets a task for an Apprentice, they must attempt it. It is fair for a Personalizer to ask their Apprentice to repeat the task if they think it is needed. If the Personalizer finds that his/her Apprentice is refusing or neglecting their lessons they may pm a staff member and have their Apprentice's status revoked. At the same time, if an Apprentice finds they have an inactive or unreasonable Personalizer, they may pm a staff member and together the staff will review the situation and re-assign the Apprentice. The Staff does not want to hear Apprentices complaining because their Personalizer is 'not nice enough.' or 'is too hard on me'. The Personalizer is there to make Apprentices better manipulators, not to be their best friend. Apprentices: you may thank them later
Apprentices are required to critique at least four images over their Apprenticeship. This will help train their eye to see flaws in photos. It is up to the Apprentice's assigned Personalizer to make sure this happens.
After the month has passed, ` _e v e r l y will assess their level by reviewing the Apprentice's finished requests and three most recent images and then decide to decline or accept them as a Personalizer.
On rare occasions, the Apprentice will be allowed to make images for an extended period. This usually occurs if the admin cannot make a decision or if the Apprentice has to be away for a time.
Apprentices can only take one request at a time. You MUST finish that request before taking any more. This is to ensure that all requests get completed in a timely manner and so that everyone gets a chance to fill requests.
Requesting Rules
* Use the form provided.
* Post in the appropriate areas.
* No human requests.
* Take notice of which sections are closed and opened by checking our header.
* No requesting when orders are closed.
* If you would like to reorder, you may do so, but be polite.
* No double ordering.*
* Be patient.
* No bumping allowed at all. Edit your post if needed.
* Check Pick-Ups if your request seems to disappear.
* No SIM game requests. This includes Horseland.
*Double ordering = placing a request for the same image at multiple studios (see below).
Requesting Information
Only Personalizers and Apprentices are allowed to fill requests.
No double ordering. This is rude and hurtful to the Personalizer, not to mention a waste of their time. If you are caught double ordering you will be given a warning and your image will not be completed.
Be patient while waiting for your request to be completed, we don't live on the computer.
Do not bump your post! We like to take the requests in the order that they have been posted. If you need to add important information, simply Modify your post.
You may request a certain Personalizer, but they will not always do your request! We have busy lives and are not always available.
Requests are closed for a reason. When boards get so full of requests, we close them so that our Personalizers and Apprentices can finish them and not keep requesters waiting. If you post your request when the board is closed, it will be deleted. You can check to see if a board is closed by reading it's name or looking at our header in the left text box. The board will open once all the requests have been filled.
BE Signature Requests
Requests posted in this board are for use only on this studio. They are NOT for RPG characters.
Pick-Up
Can't find your request? Check Pick-Ups before asking in a post.
If you do not pick up your image in 14 days, it will be moved to the image dump and/or Freebies.
A simple thank you will do the job once you pick up your image. It encourages us to keep doing what we do.
If your finished image is not as you imagined it, don't yell; just ask if changes can be made. If you must re-order be nice to the person that worked hard for you.
You may not ask for images in the Pick-Up section. If you must, use PMs.
Stock Rules and Information
If you wish to become a stock supplier, please fill out the form provided. Your samples will be looked over by an admin. If approved, you are free to post your stock in the correct category. The title of your thread will be "(your name)'s Stock." Inside you will post your stock under headings that describe the animal's color or the background (see example stock thread). You can also describe the photo a little more using these: ( ). You will modify your board every time you add new stock.
Stock users must post a link to their completed image in the stock provider's thread along with the link(s) to where it will be used. You must credit the stock provider with "horse/wolf/background/etc. stock from (name) at BE" or something similar to it. A link to BE is optional.
Our stock will not be used on any SIM games such as Horseland.
If you want to withdraw your stock thread from BE, please inform an Admin and we will remove your stock.
(more information in The Pending Board)
Critique Rules
* You may post only one image in the critique section per week. If you want to show off your images, do so in the Showcase.
* You may only post one image in a critique thread unless your image has multiple versions.
* All replying posts should contain a critique as well as a positive note.
* You may not ask for images in the critique section. If you must, use PMs.
* If your image is exceptionally large and/or exceeds 600 pixels in width, please only post the URL/link to it.
* Post in the appropriate boards.
* No rudeness and no excuses.
These rules are to help us avoid flooding of the critique section. They are also to ensure that all the images posted get critiqued so that the person can improve their skills.
Freebies
* Those who use these freebies should host them as well.
* Pay attention to how many times the image makers says they will be giving out the image.
Contests
All members may participate in contests. You do not need to be a Personalizer or an Apprentice.
Tutorials
All members may post and request tutorials.
Chatting
Keep the craziness for the Sp00sh board.
Sp00sh
You are allowed to go wild here, but there must be certain limits.
There will be no putting down of others, arguments or heated debates. No name calling, hair pulling, or... Well, you get the idea. This is a place for randomness and fun.
Mild swearing is permitted, but should NEVER be directed at anyone else, and it should be used appropriately.
Affiliation
Please be aware that we only accept animal and image studio related affiliates.
The affiliate list in our footer will be looked though and edited as the staff sees fit. Your button will be removed if there have been no posts for 2 months and if your website has been deleted, closed, or the link no longer works.
Activity Checks
Activity Checks, under normal circumstances, only apply to Personalizers as it is important for them to keep active.
C-box Rules
No spamming/flooding/flaming/etc. - Do not post consecutively, especially if all you have to say is utter nonsense.
No advertising - Do not advertise, or even talk about other sites in the c-box; putting links to other websites in your name is fine, as long as you don't go on and explain that your name contains the link to 'this new RPG I just joined that has the bestest plot EVER !'
No harsh profanities - As permitted on the rest of the site, mild swearing, such as saying 'this trig homework is such a pregnant dog', is alright. What is not appropriate is saying 'f**k this trig homework, it can go back to the son of a pregnant dog who assigned it!'. However, no profanity, no matter the degree, is allowed to be directed at a person, regardless of whether we know them or not.
No impersonation - Don't be an idiot and try and impersonate someone else. No matter the nature of your intentions, when you do get caught, you will be deleted and banned from BE. Fraud is in fact a criminal offense, and you do not want to partake in such an activity.
Abide by the site rules in general - Use your common sense. Don't do things or talk about things that are wrong. The c-box is a place for BE members and guests alike to interact in a friendly manner, unhindered by the restrictions that come with sending PMs to each other.
((I [` _e v e r l y] have taken Hawaii's rules and, though left mostly intact, reviewed and modified them. If you have any questions feel free to pm me.))
